Back in 2014 I decided to leave everything I knew and dive into the world of entrepreneurship. I had no idea what pitch, canva, break even, and a bunch of other terms meant. In 2016 I was one of 238 people elected by former President Obama as the Young Leader of the Americas for the work I had been doing with Tedybujo. Today a Facebook memory brought back the first photo of me years ago when I was just getting started, and it led me to stop and look at everything that I’ve achieved since then. Fake it until you make it they say. And so I did. And just like that, without knowing what I was doing, I went ahead. I decided to pursue my dreams and trust my instincts. That leap of faith led me to study at Columbia, to meet Obama, to win the most prestigious awards in the toy industry and to launch this beautiful endeavor that I carry out today, Little Rebels. I’ve been living in a constant roller coaster of emotions, where NO becomes the most heard word, where getting into debt is common currency, daily anguish but also, the excitement of seeing your idea improving lives is so wholesome that it keeps me going, no matter what. Grateful for this crazy journey and grateful for those that are always there for me.
